Blog-A-Rhythm_Wordy Wednesday - What goes around, comes around

In life, there is always a cycle of chain reactions. I have been a believer of this since childhood. I have guarded my "karma" accordingly.

If we try to understand this in simpler terms. We learnt alphabets which helped us pronounce words. This allowed us to construct sentences. Eventually we were able to read and communicate with others effectively. So the "karma" of learning alphabets induced the chain reaction to communication. Similarly, the "karma" of not learning alphabets would induce the chain reaction of not being able to read and communicate appropriately.

As I grew up, though I continued to believe in the consequences of “karma” on my life, however, I remained confused on the tagging of good and bad karma.

Who decides an action is good or bad? How can someone's protocol of being good decide my actions are good or bad?

For example: There was an era when performing Sati was regarded as good karma and consequence stated was, "reaching heaven". But was it really good karma?

Are good and bad actions decided, subjectively or objectively?

Devdutt Patnaik states in a TED talk that this rule applies to the Gods as well. The end of one incarnation results in the rise of another incarnation. The “Durga Visarjan” done last year was only for Her to come around again this year.

  1. Good karma always yields good results. It may take time, but eventually it does.

  3. I guess nobody decides.. but our conscience becomes the judge may be! There is always a warning sign in our hearts if bad thoughts take place.. for instance, harming anyone, thinking evil for the others is in itself is ill..

    Well written Salvwi :)

    Cheers
